Bus Information

Dear Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s):

We need to inform you of changes occurring in the Student Transportation Services Branch. In 2019, the HAR was revised clarifying that only students who are certified eligible by the Department of Human Services to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program  (SNAP) are eligible for free bus passes. Eligibility is also determined by MVA, Foster Care, and if a student has 3 older paying siblings.

To clarify, a student attending a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) school with free lunch, will no longer be automatically eligible for free bus. You must be SNAP certified to be eligible for a free bus pass. To apply for eligibility please make sure to fill out an online application at https://ezmealapp.com

Once you have applied for eligibility, you will then need to fill out a bus application online at https://hi.etrition.com/busapplication. If your application is denied, please make sure to correctly select your payment plan according to your ezmeal application status.

More Bus Information:

-For school bus applications that are submitted via eTrition, you will be prompted via email to submit payments online using EZSchoolPay once the application is approved. You will then receive a receipt and temporary bus pass that can be printed at home.

-For families that used a paper application, temporary passes will be available for students to pick up in the main office, once payment is received.

-Bus coupons must be purchased at the school and are cash only.

-Permanent bus pass cards will be available at the MMS office seven to ten days after payment is received.

-There will be a three-week grace period at the start of the school year. Please ensure your child knows that they are required to show their bus pass to the driver by August 29, 2022. Students who do not show a valid bus pass after this date will be reported to the school upon arrival and/or may be denied a ride in the future.

-You will no longer need to fill out an application for each quarter. Once an application is approved, it is approved for the entire school year. Please make sure to make payments in a timely manner.
